Baal Kalakaar

In Hindi Baal Kalakaar means 'child artist' which is just what this event organised by Aiesec in Goa hopes to accomplish - bring out the latent creativity hidden within all of us but completely unsought for,  from underprivileged children In a massive event encompassing all of Goa we seek to bring onto the pristine campus of BITS Pilani K.K. Birla Goa Campus over 500 kids and give them a brush , colours and a paper to unleash all of their dreams…
The day is filled to the brim with events dedicated to bringing smiles to these kids’ faces. There is no better time than now to make a change, to make a difference and change these kids’ lives for the better. We don’t know how many of these kids will actually aspire to be artists and painters after this, but we hope we inspired them at least.
Chief Guest for the event is to be Commodore Ajay Chhabra - Naval Officer in charge , Goa and the guests of honour - Panaji Rotary Club president - and Matthew Kurien - founder of the El Shaddai Charitable Trust.
We Aiesec-ers are proud to be part of this event and it is indeed a great opportunity to help some of these underprivileged individuals. We will continue to be part such ventures. Do feel free to provide us any suggestions regarding events of this sort in the future !!
Because THIS , is just the beginning :)

AIESEC in Goa

Goa has beautiful mornings - each unique, yet ever the same... A myriad shades of nature exploding into a burst of color.Brightly lit sometimes, and sometimes misty. Each symbolic of a new beginning......

The ones that intrigue me the most are the foggy ones.when my path is covered and filled with white ,it feels like a waking dream. That's where we stand right now . But what we aim to do , is to make a path through that mist, a new, unexplored, adventurous and fulfilling one made not just for us, but for the thousands of youth in Goa....

We are AIESEC, the largest youth organisation in the world. And we have arrived in Goa to change lives, to shape the future and to make dreams come true. AIESEC is not just a collection of words. It is a path, an experience. Focused on providing a platform for youth leadership development, AIESEC offers young people the opportunity to be global citizens, to change the world, and to get experience and skills that matter today.

AIESEC is a global, non-political, independent, not-for-profit organization run by students and recent graduates of institutions of higher education. Our members are interested in world issues, leadership and management.AIESEC does not discriminate on the basis of race, colour, gender, sexual orientation, creed, religion, national, ethnic or social origin. AIESEC members live an integrated development experience. This involves leadership opportunities, international internships and interacting with a global network to support their development. We lead by example and inspire leadership through our activities. We take full responsibility for developing the youth leadership potential of our members. We seek to learn from the different ways of life and opinions represented in our multicultural environment. We aim to deliver the highest quality performance in everything we do. Through creativity and innovation we seek to continuously improve.

And with the aim of inspiring youth leadership, AIESEC has arrived in Goa. Goa is imagined to be a tourist’s dream spot , a perfect place for a lazy vacation but we believe we can do so much more with our stay here . We’re out to prove we aren’t lazy or tourists ,we’re here to make a difference , to show that we can do more than any expansion has done before (and as clichéd as it sounds ),to go where no expansion has gone before.

AIESEC in Goa has a very inspired medley of individuals scattered over all streams of engineering and in various years , all united with the desire to take AIESEC in Goa to dazzling heights. We want to offer people opportunities they never dreamed existed and even better ,to make it happen. We believe that dreams do come true , and we’re the facilitators of these dreams , we make it happen AIESEC,Goa wants to help people make their mark on the world and on society, to help in a small way towards the attainment of peace and the fulfilment of humankind's potential.... To Part the mist and pave way for the light... To inspire, to dream, to realise....

How does the Internship Process work???

The Process

There are only 6 steps that need to be completed to go on an internship with AIESEC. Every single step is an important contribution to making your experience unforgettable. If you have more questions about the Exchange process.

1st Step: Contact AIESEC

2nd Step: The Interview

3rd Step: Attend a preparation Seminar

Before you leave for your internship, you have to attend an "Exchange Preparation Seminar“(XPS) where you will be prepared to live in a different culture and get some tips and tricks on how to find the most suitable internship within our database. This Seminar lasts for one day and usually takes place on a weekend.

4th Step: Find your internship

If you pass the interview, you will have access to our online database. This allows you to search for internships of your choice and directly apply for them. It might also be possible that a company contacts you directly for their open internship. Generally, you need about one month to find your internship. However, the more flexible you are, the easier you will find an internship.

5th Step: The Internship

The AIESEC committee in your destination organizes you an apartment as well as all the necessary documents such as the work-permit. They also help you during the first few days when you arrive at your destination and introduce you to the members as well as other interns.

6th Step: Return and Re-integration

AIESEC also supports you after your internship. We give you the opportunity to reflect on your internship and share your experience with others and inspire them to go on an internship as well.

The AIESEC Experience

AIESEC enables young people to explore and develop their leadership potential. We believe that by completing the whole AIESEC Experience, young people will be able to prepare the leaders of tomorrow to have their positive impact on society.

Our international platform provide our members with numerous opportunites - physical and virtual - create their own AIESEC experience, e.g. to connect with our global partner orgainzations, overseas chapters of AIESEC, to be in leadership roles within our network, to work aboard, to form their learning networks or attend conferences worldwide.

The unique combination of AIESEC Experience and the opportunities that our network can provide is the way we inspire young people who are passionate to exert their positive impact in society - that is the AIESEC difference

AIESEC Experience

The diagram
shows the different steps in the AIESEC experience.
1.
All members go through a formal introduction to the organization and then begin to take on responsibility in some area.
2.
They then have the option to take on leadership, work abroad, or both.
3.
The final step is to head to the future - to take the skills, inspiration, and networks from AIESEC to have a positive impact in society.
  • Introduction to AIESEC

Once you have finished these, feel free to move onto Taking Responsibility and find out just what our members are up to, in their day-to-day work.
    • Taking Responsibility

Now, you have learned about what AIESEC is in your Introduction stage, it’s time to take on a role in the organization. You can learn a lot of useful skills which will be beneficial to your career in future through taking the leadership roles. You can learn skills such as project management, public speaking, strategic planning, marketing, problem solving etc. Our members learn by doing, getting support and working together with others that have more advanced skills and experience.
    • Leadership Role

Once you are at this stage, you already have gained the experiences and knowledge from the taking responsibility stage and now you are leading the organization to create opportunities for all members toexplorethemselves. You have chances to draft strategies and achieve the organization’s overall goal. You will learn how to lead a team and also an organization.

    • Exchange
In this stage, you will find an international experience that fits into your individual’s learning goals and also the organization’s goals. You will also have chances to get integrated into foreign cultures as deeply as possible and broaden your horizons.
Each year, AIESEC runs international exchange programs that enable over 5500 students and recent graduates to have opportunities to work and live in different cultures and environments.
    • Heading for the future

Now that you’ve had a chance to experience all that AIESEC has to offer, its time to look back at your experience and reflect on the experiences you have had, and all that you have learnt about yourself.
This flow and the opportunities within it are reinforced by 5 key principles, that are reflected in all parts of the process. These principles are explained below:

Taking an Active Role

AIESEC will provide the opportunities nd some support, but it is ultimately up to the individual to make the most of those opportunities.
Each individual must take responsibility for his/her experience within AIESEC. Each individual must also take responsibility for the organization. It is through the collective efforts and commitments of everyone involved in AIESEC that we are able to provide so many opportunities – some 350 conferences, 3500 work abroad opportunities, and 5000 leadership positions, plus many other activities.
Increasing Capacity

Through conferences, work abroad opportunities, and the management of our offices, we provide young people with the opportunity to increase theoretical knowledge in a wide-range of functional and soft skills and the opportunity toput it into practice.

Building a Network

People need a network of support that can guide and encourage them towards their vision and goals. Through conferences, learning networks, innovative on-line platforms, and a growing alumni network, AIESEC provides young people with the opportunity to create a strong and global network to support them in their personal and professional pursuits.

Developing Self-Awareness and Personal Vision

We think young people need more space and support to answer fundamental questionssuch as “What is important to me?” and “How do I want to contribute to the world?”. AIESEC supports young people in clarifying and expanding their ambitions through mentorship, personal vision exercises, an inspiring environment, and providing intense experiences that challenge their view of the world and their role within it.

Challenging Worldview

Through intense experiences such as conferences, working abroad, and engaging in diverse environments, AIESEC “shakes up” the way young people see the world. A stronger and more holistic view of the world enables them to more easily incorporate new perspectives, see interdependencies, and identify ways to positively impact any given situation
